Proper maintenance of any analyzer is imperative for long sensor life, as well as keeping your analyzer running in tip-top shape. The following reference graphics are from the user's manual, and are copyright Bacharach, Inc.
To protect sensors, check installation of watertrap:
Keeping the Watertrap dry is essential ~ moisture is the sensors' worst enemy. Dissassemble, dry out and reassemble EVERY time there is moisture, sloshing water, or beads of condensate. This is the proper assembly for the watertrap. MANY PEOPLE REINSTALL THE BELL UPSIDE DOWN ~ THIS WILL ACTUALLY SUCK WATER INTO THE SENSORS!:
Replacing Oxygen Sensor ~ make sure you do not overtighten the top flange when reassembling. This will crack the base flange, and can crack the sensor, which can cause leakage. Also make sure that the plastic screw is at the 2 o'clock position:
When replacing the Carbon Monoxide Sensor, make sure to check the membrane and O-ring. If the membrane is clogged or dirty, it needs replaced. If either are missing, they need replaced. Make sure to remove the jumper, or your sensor will not read:
