Ever wonder about the true response time between analyzers? How fast do the sensors read the gases? What about sensitivity?
The following movie shows a quick Rough Light Off and both analyzers are in the stack. We'll let you be the judge ...
Bacharach Fyrite Pro peaked at 255 ppm CO
Testo peaked at 133 ppm CO
The second part of the movie shows a controlled environment ~ same two analyzers. Both probes were put into a baggie, and 500 ppm of CO was fed into the baggie (controlled known-quantity span gas) ... Watch the response time, AS WELL AS what the analyzers are actually picking up! This is important, because "what you don't know CAN kill you!"
Bacharach Fyrite Pro peaked at 427 ppm CO
Testo peaked at 342 ppm CO
(The span gas was only fed for about 10-15 seconds or so, just to show the reaction time. Because the baggie was not a direct feed, there was ambient air mixing, hence neither analyzer arrived at the true 500 ppm due to dilution.)

The truth is out there...
Testo and their logo is a registered trademark of Testo, Inc. and has NO RELATION, NOR ASSOCIATION to Bacharach, Inc. or Carl's Calibration & Repair. This comparison test was run because our customers had questions and concerns regarding the sensitivity of the analyzers, as well as response time. Sensor response time and total gases read / analyzed is important for contractors to know about, because CO can be deadly. So let's save some lives by testing!
